Setting: Pugad Lawin School

Exposition: Preparation of the whole school of Pugad Lawin for the arrival of the supervisors.

Rising Action: Arrival of superintendent together with the other officials.

Climax: It is when Mr. Sawit gave his role to Ms. Noel to be the next English Instructor.

Falling Action: Ms. Noel She thinks that all those years, she have become a slave of the administration. And she thinks that Leon would become a lawyer someday.

Ending: Mr. Buenaflor fetched a camera and they all posed for a souvenir photo Ms. Noel was late But she ran and take her place with pride and humility.

Theme: The theme of the story is Determination there are people telling her to give up to get more salary but she didn't give she wants to teach her students and she wants the children to reach their dreams.

Symbolism: The symbolism of the story is the gods

Marquez – Benítez authored the first Filipino modern English language short story, Dead Stars, published in the Philippine Herald in 1925.
