Setting: Office ,Philippines

Exposition: is a story about a doctor that is always grumpy and strict is always in a hurry and he doesn't care about his co-workers

Rising Action: It is when Dr. Rufino T. Ventanilla goes to his office and was surrounded by paper on his desk dealing with all this work makes him stressful and he has to do this everyday.

Climax: Dr. Rufino T. Ventanilla got a message from his boss that he is fired and he will be transferred to another department.

Falling Action: where Perez and Marcos was talking about Dr.Ventanilla in a restaurant. The two talked about how Dr.Ventanilla  that he is not happy about his job.

Ending: The story shows him encountering several things that make him realize how he has been living and he ends up a changed man in the end.

Title: Dead Stars  Author: Paz Marques Benitez Author's Background: Paz Marquez Benitez (1894-1983) only had one more published short story after “Dead Stars.” Nevertheless, she made her mark in Philippine literature because her work is considered the first modern Philippine short story. Vocabulary: concreteness -  is an aspect of communication that means being specific, definite, and vivid rather than vague and general. tranquil - free from disturbance; calm. azotea - a flat roof or platform on the top of a house or other building. puttering - occupy oneself in a desultory but pleasant way. nasally - by inhaling through the nose contempt - the feeling that a person or a thing is worthless or beneath consideration.  perfervid - intense and impassioned. glorification - the action of describing or representing something as admirable, especially unjustifiably.  monotonies - lack of variety and interest; tedious repetition and routine. wistf...
